How to Apply for Homeownership

Families that meet the homeownership criteria and are interested in Habitat's homeownership program should contact the Habitat EKC office or check the website frequently for postings of upcoming Family Information Meetings.

Family Information Meetings are designed to give potential homeowners a brief history of Habitat's mission, the requirements for Habitat homeownership, and the process of applying.  These presentations are held prior to the construction of new homes and typically occur twice a year. You may apply for homeownership after you attend a Family Information Meeting.

If you are qualified for Habitat homeownership, you may submit an application packet.  Packets include documents such as birth certificates, proof of residency, pay stubs, divorce/custody agreements, tax return papers and bank statements.  The application process is lengthy and requires attention to detail.  We encourage families to make sure they are qualified for our program before completing their applications.
