Women Build Week

When: Thursday May 5, 2010 – Saturday May 8, 2010
8:45am – 4:30pm daily

Where: Construction sites in Snoqualmie or Issaquah (specific dates TBA)

You are invited to join us for the 3rd Annual Women Build honoring the compassion, dedication, talents and abilities of women from all walks of life. Join Habitat EKC in celebrating the influential female contributors to our community! No construction experience needed. Our professional woman leaders will guide you every step of the way.

What: Women Build is Habitat’s volunteer event for women who want to learn construction skills and make a difference by building homes and communities. Women at these builds have furthered Habitat’s home-building mission by helping to construct more than 1,650 houses.

Habitat EKC’s goal for this year’s Women Build is to encourage and empower women to take action. More than 45% of Habitat EKC homeowners are single moms who were determined to have the life of their dreams. Together, we have the capability and determination necessary to build Habitat homes, addressing the problem of substandard housing in a concrete way, so that families have safe, decent and affordable homes.

2009 Build-a-Thon raises over $100,000!

Habitat EKC & Seattle/South King County Habitat have completed the first Build-a-Thon! September 19 - October 3, 2009.

Thank you to all volunteers, sponsors, families, and friends who participated in and contributed to the Build-a-Thon! Together with Habitat SKC and the 463 Build-a-Thoners, we have raised $102,282 to date!

Wine and Dine for Affordable Housing!
Thank you for joining us for a special wine tasting event in partnership with St. Andrew’s Housing Group on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Efeste Winery in Woodinville! The event included a special wine tasting, gourmet pizzas, a raffle and much more!

St. Andrew's Housing Group is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with limited income on King County’s Eastside, empowering these families to succeed by providing housing and access to services while strengthening local communities and encouraging diversity. This makes them a perfect fit to partner with Habitat EKC.
